We are Shaun and Lanette Nelson and we have four beautiful, smart, silly, and sweet kids, and all four were adopted at birth and we are hoping to adopt again. We have really open adoptions with all of our children's birth families and we love it so very much! About Us
We are huge open adoption advocates! We host a podcast called the Open Adoption Project, openadoptionproject.org, to help others learn about how important open adoptions can be for the adoptee's sake! This is what open adoption looks like in our home: We see most of our children’s birth parents many times a year--we love each of them so much. We have lots of contact with their birth grandparents too. The kids claim more than 16 grandparents. The kids’ grandparents have really embraced all four kids as their own and love all of them, which is something we so appreciate! We invite birth families to all birthday parties, holiday get-togethers, and other family celebrations. We love seeing all of the love and support our kids receive. We love our kids’ birth families, they’re family to us all.
